The next month is going to be purely iconic! Though, I may be just a tad partial. Aquarius season (January 20 to February 18) is the celestial home to several holidays as well - MLK Jr. Day, Inauguration Day, Valentine’s Day, and *coughs* my birthday. I’m just gonna cut to the chase - Aquarians are straight weirdos. They’re the intellectuals, revolutionaries, and individuals who march to the beat of their own drum, and seek to change the world for the better. The zodiac’s humanitarian is frequently misunderstood, and difficult to identify in the wild because of how “all over the place” they are. People of insanely eclectic interests and beliefs, every moment spent with an Aquarius is just as shocking as the last. Being completely unique and authentic are pretty much the only consistent trademarks of this sign, and Aqua szn will send us into a place of introspection to discover who we really are and what it means to live as authentically as possible. This next month, we’ll all be feeling inspired to tap into our inner revolutionary, find a stronger sense of self, and discover how valuable friendship is to our personal growth.
The Water Bearer is deceiving. Contrary to what many believe, Aquarius is not a water, but an air sign! Air seasons are naturally associated with ideas, change, and friendship rather than intuition, emotion, and sensitivity. Aquarians are deeply intuitive, but prefer to handle life with logic. This is one of several paradoxes that exist within this sign’s energy. She is outgoing yet detached. She is extremely emotional yet logic-driven. She is neurotic and fixed, yet unpredictable and quirky. She is arrogant, yet self-sacrificing. Sometimes the motivations for an Aquarius are hard to understand due to these stark contrasts in characteristics, but you can count on an Aquarius to be the most unique, self-assured person in the room. You’ll never catch an Aqua apologizing for who they are. The beauty of this season is that all of us will have the power of that star-given BDE, and will be presented with the opportunity to move forward with our personal calling without heavy fear and doubt. Avoid mental clutter, and becoming overwhelmed by the many things you’re capable of achieving, and focus on the one gift that makes you feel like your best self! Journaling is super helpful, and a great practice for making life altering decisions when you’re overwhelmed with choice.
Speaking of life’s calling - Aquarius is the sign most likely to revolutionize the industry they work in - I mean, it’s not the star home of Oprah, Ellen Degeneres, Bob Marley, Abe Lincoln, Frederick Douglass and many other groundbreaking minds for no damn reason! Consider how the systems in your life - perhaps at work, in a relationship, or in the world - are not working for you, and ask yourself what you’re personally doing to make these spaces better for everyone. Living like an Aquarius this month means taking on the responsibility of making the world a better place even at a microscopic level! Stand up for yourself, or a friend in need. Create an alternative to an oppressive policy at work. Call out those who are wielding power irresponsibly. It can seem scary, but I’m a firm believer that there are no bad consequences to defending what’s right and true.
Aquarian energy can be brooding and reclusive, because they’re so obsessed with individuality that they alienate themselves. The power of the Aquarius, however, is in partnership. They bring gifted people together to create something greater than any single individual’s work. Which people in your life do you feel seen and supported by? Which people have talents outside of your own who can help you achieve your higher purpose? It’s time to collaborate and build!
